To my Asian Sisters - n/ Sistas

Watch this short film.
Winner of the Jury Award, Media That Matters Film Festival

"Slip of the Tongue": “What’s your ethnic make up?” A young man makes a pass at a beautiful stranger and gets an eye-opening schooling on race and gender.

Ed note: This made me laugh so hard. The film's done in 4-5min. and is shot very well. Everything done in Final Edit Pro. The director? A high school teen girl.
Girl power!

on a related subject, I was watching killing them softly - Dave Chapelle..and one of his bits is he talks about how those feminine magazines trick women in to feeling fatter, uglier, not good enough, and forgeting how beautiful they actually are...and this short film reinforced his theory...I found it very interesting

Its true. More often then not fashion magazines just reinforce women's insecurities.
If you click on the movie info links, you'll find out the girl director is from Oakland Cali.

I read your comment on my blog. I think "Paris by Night" is fake and lame. All those singers had plastic surgery done! I too agree that fashion magazines make real women feel bad about themselves. For once, I would like to see supermodels with curves instead of an anorexic chick like Kate Moss.
